Efficiency standards for autos sold in USA since 2016, are up
What environmentalists were not able to enforce, was achieved by those who use the oil prices to push Americans into an economic crisis which could be the worst in history or influence USA foreign relations.

Fuel economy standards are going up by 8 miles per gallon per vehicle by 2016, which means at least 1.8 billion barrels over the life of the cars sold in a five years period, more than the oil imported from Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Venezuela and Libya combined for the last year, or taking 58 millions autos off the road for a full year.
It has been ironic at least to see how American dollars are going into non friendly pockets. Whether the economic and environmental side of the savings is important, the impact on security is enormous as there are less dollars for non friendly countries and there are more dollars to expend inside.

An step like this was almost impossible or at least politically complicated just a year ago. However, Mr Obama, flanked by CEOs of world automakers, like General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Mercedez-Benz, BMW, Volkswagen, Nissan, Toyota, Honda, and the United Auto Workers, governors, democrats and republican leaders gave us the news about the higher standards for oil consumption and better energy use, which is a very important change. GeneralMotors plans to retool its Lordstown plant to make the Chevrolet Cruze, a vehicle expected to get more than 40 miles per gallon.

Mr Obama´s announcement goes beyond what was expected from the auto industry which estimates were to 33 miles per gallon by 2020. Even though as of February 2007 there were 113 cars available abroad with consumption levels of 40 miles per gallon or better, only 2 of these cars were sold in the USA.

It is obvious the environment is receiving great help from this step ahead, but the reasons behind Mr Obama´s announcement are based on economic, political and strategic motivations. Mr Obama has done for energy savings and the environment, more in a week than George Bush did in eight years at the White House.

Oil global demand is growing steadily to fuel high prices. The USA consumption is about a quarter of total oil consumption, which means an increase of one third compared to two decades ago.

To achieve higher levels of independence from the oil powered engines, the hybrid technologies are increasing their share in the transportation industry. The third generation of the Toyota Prius and the return of the Honda Insight are being joined by the first generation of the Hybrid technologies from Mercedez and BMW. Also there are contribution to overall fuel consumption with more efficient Fords, Chevrolets, Saturn and Hondas. It is expected that 2009 will see at least 500.000 new hybrids on American roads.

During 2008 15 models of hybrid vehicles were on the road, which are now going up to more than 20 models. Fuel economy ratings are expected to go over 50 mpg as new models are being reengineered to use power trains that extend the range of all electric gas free driving.

HEVs or Hybrid electric vehicles combine the benefits of gasoline engines and electric motors which can be configured for fuel economy, increased power or additional auxiliary power for electric devices and power tools.

EV or electric vehicles are propelled by electric motors which are energy efficient, environmentally friendly and provide quiet, smooth operation with stronger acceleration and require less maintenance.

Electric vehicles have lower pollutants emissions. Electric vehicles however, can go 150 miles or less before recharging, while gasoline vehicles can go twice the distance before refueling.

Simultaneously, there are several technologies which are not new but which improvements are helping lower gas consumption and giving engines a power push.
Besides the technological side which is promising, there are many question marks about the future of the big three which are responsible of achieving the new standards provided they survive the difficult times they are facing.
Ford, General Motors and Chrysler are more than traditional names tied to our feelings. They are closely associated to the economic power of America. Patriotic feelings awaken those remembrances when their names were brands close to every transportation requirement around the world.

Now, competition, oil prices, economic troubles and management problems work together against the survival of these emblematic names too close to our lives for us to think their problems are some bodies else problems. Science, technology, management and regulations must work together to achieve the goal of fuel efficient vehicles, lower pollution and high rates of efficiency will make future vehicles environment friendly, engines more powerful and efficient, cleaner air and high performance are dreams that are on their way of being an everyday reality.

Swine Flu Is Spreading In More Countries

After an unexpected low rate of attendance at Kilmer elementary school CEO Ron Huberman showed concern as only 87% of students showed up for classes, as officials investigate if students might have contracted the swine flu virus.

While the suspected swine flu infections are investigated, classes at Kilmer were suspended for at least two days. Medical samples from suspected infected students are being sent to the Center for Disease Control. Results will take 24 36 hours for the agency to confirm if the students are infected with the swine virus.

The 12 year old student, suspected of being infected is recuperating at home. Kilmer 875 students are pre-kindergarten through 8th grade, Medical authorities are also studying attendance patterns in other schools.

There are 64 swine virus flu infections throughout the United States as of Tuesday April 28th.

The World Health Organization, on the other hand confirmed the pandemic swine flu is having low impact around the world. Simultaneously, American health authorities confirmed the first death in American territory attributed to the flu virus.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is coordinating the global response to human cases of swine flu. As first US death was confirmed, the World Health Organization have raised the alert level.

The death toll in Mexico touched the 159 mark, with more than 2000 infected. Mexico city authorities ordered the closure of eateries, bars, cinemas. Restaurants, cafes, diners, and food outlets have been prohibited from serving sit-down customers, while they stepped up their efforts to contain the deadly outbreak. Mexican authorities have ordered temporary closure of Mexican schools.

Human swine influenza and seasonal human flu are respiratory illnesses which have similar symptoms.

The public Health Agency of Canada is working with Mexican and American official to find answers for this spreading situation. Canada has reported 19 cases of human swine influenza, up to the 29th of April.

Emergency warning sings that require urgent medical attention for children are: Fast breathing or trouble breathing; bluish skin color; not drinking enough fluids; not waking up or not interacting; being highly irritable; fever with a rash.

As per CNN, the World Health Organization has raised the swine flu alert to level 5, which indicates they fear a pandemic is imminent. Dr. Margareth Chan, the World Health Organization said that all countries should immediately activate their pandemic preparedness plans.

On Wednesday the 29th, the outbreak grew in terms of confirmed cases, people killed and countries with infections. Health officials are looking for information to get more data about the virus for which there is no vaccine yet.

Affiliate marketing is basically in short, selling others’ products as an affiliate. An
affiliate is like an independent salesperson that gets a commission on each
completed sale. You can be an affiliate of many affiliate programs or just one. It’s
your choice. And you can sell anything online from physical products like DVDs,
vitamin supplements to digital products like ebooks and music MP3 files.

Becoming an affiliate is not a difficult task on the internet. There are dozens of
affiliate programs online that accepts almost everyone into their program. And
registration is in most cases, free.

The job of the affiliate is to expose the product to potential buyers. Making the
sales however does require some work on your part as an affiliate. The whole
marketing process can be an interesting one albeit challenging for some. When I
first started on affiliate marketing, I too faced some difficulties in getting it right.

But I soon learnt through ebooks, forums and from people who made it good.

Halloween is besides tradition, the opportunity for love, renew relations with friends, relatives and for romance too. People love corny costumes and Halloween is a great time to use our creativity and enjoy witches, pirates, cowboys and fairies at many Halloween parties.

Think about these three things:

Only 1 person is reading your message at a time

Your readers want you to be consistent

Your readers want you to help them

Your readers want to buy useful things

Only 1 Person Is Reading Your Message At A Time

Even though you are technically writing messages that will be seen by (hopefully) thousands of people over time, each email is actually read by just one person at a time. This means you need to write your messages just to one person.

Instead of writing to “you all” or “some of you”, write directly to “you” or “one of my best customers”.

Also, you can use personalization fields in autoresponders like Aweber, where everybody gets their email with their actual first name in the message.

Your Readers Want You To Be Consistent

In general, people like a routine because its comfortable and doesn’t confuse them.

With autoresponder marketing, consistency means emailing your subscribers with regular frequency, and having a typical format to your messages.

I like to send out messages every 2-4 days, but only when I have something of value to give. Some people like emailing every day, and others once a week or two. Regardless of what you determine your frequency to be - stick to it.

When it comes to formatting your messages, I like to always include a link in my emails. This makes it routine for my readers to know that after reading the email, they’ll want to click on the included link for more.

Even when I’m not promoting a product, I do this. I’ll include part of a lesson in the email, and then have a link to my blog to finish the reading. You never want to have your email message be a dead end. Because then, the only link to click on in the message is the one to unsubscribe!

Your Readers Want You To Help Them

Many people think that using autoresponders as an essential part of their business means sending out promotional emails every time. This is partially true - you are promoting yourself and your expertise each time you send a message. But you don’t have to be selling anything. What you are really doing is building a relationship of trust between your readers and yourself.

Your readers want to know that you aren’t just trying to suck cash out of their wallet. So don’t be stingy with your free advice, tips, etc. Ultimately, you need to prove to each reader individually that you are the person they should turn to for answers.

Your Readers Want To Buy Useful Things

People love to buy things, but they hate being sold to. I’m sure you’ve probably heard this before, right?

Well, it’s true. Most people get great joy when they make an excellent purchase. The trick is you have to make sure your customer feels that they get a great value from you when they give you money. They want to feel like they got the better end of the deal.

So don’t be afraid to offer a product or service to your readers - whether it’s an affiliate product or one of your own.

If you genuinely feel that your readers will benefit from using a product or service, then your recommendation will have a big impact on them. If you are just after some cash, your readers will quickly figure that out and abandon you.

And if you DON’T offer your readers something to buy, then you aren’t building a business. You’re just making friends.

Put these tips into action, and you’ll be well on your way to long term online profits!

Generating Network Marketing Leads

Generating good solid Network Marketing leads can be a chore or it can be a very simply act.

What resources are you using to attract the right leads?

Today, I want to share some of the resources and tools that are working for our group to attract the right kind of leads for their business.

Marketing online does not have to involve 'Rocket Science' and you don't need to be an "Internet Guru" or possess extraordinary skills.

What you do need is the ability to read and follow directions.

So, if you feel you have the very unique skill to be able to read and follow directions, then please read on.

In this post, I will share a few simple tips to help you attract leads and solid prospects for your primary business. I will talk about using a "prospecting system" and then I will talk to you about advertising your prospecting link. We will cover things like Traffic Exchanges and Marketing Lists and Safelists and Social Networks. Today, I will cover Traffic Exchanges only as it's important that you learn one task at a time.

So, let's begin by talking about the system you will need. Many of you reading this post will already have a "system" in place and you can use the process I'll talk about to advertise your link.

Ok, let's get started shall we?

Step 1 in this process is having a system to capture your leads.

You can do this one of two ways, either by using a system that is created for you or by creating your own "lead capture" system. (there are actually many systems out there and many ways to do this, we'll concentrate on two systems and a few simple resources that work).

The system we use is called 'Earth Friendly Biz' (EFB), and our system is based on a "3-step process" that attracts leads and encourages activity. Prospects view the system and enter their information to learn more about our 3 steps. They are introduced to three programs that we recommend - these programs are then used for marketing our sites - and then they register for their own free system.

If you prefer to create your own lead capture page, I put together a report that shows you how to simply add an auto-responder form to a Blogspot page. Blogspot is a free resource and very simple to use. If you own an auto-responder system such as "Get Response" or "Response Magic" then you are set to go.

Throughout the rest of this report, I will be using the EarthFriendlyBiz system as an example. You can replace my EFB information with your own if you are using a sysem other than EFB.

This is where people tend to fail. They signup for systems such as EFB and then they stop. Either they advertise briefly with no results or they don't advertise at all and their claims to others are "the systems do not work".

If you are one of those marketers, then all you need to do is to continue marketing. Over time, you will see results. I guarantee it.

And I guaranteee this as well, if you keep doing what you are doing, you will continue to get the same results. It's time for change.

The simple steps I will outline below will work but only if you are consistent with your marketing AND with your followup.

NOTE: it does not matter how good a system is, if you don't add your personal follow-up, your business will not grow. You will attract a lot of leads but until you connect with them personally, they will be inactive.

Ok, so let's get started advertising your new prospecting system.

Step 2 - Advertising your "Lead Capture" link

In this section, I'm going to begin discussions on joining and using different advertising resources. In this post, my focus is Traffic Exchanges.

Let's Talk Traffic Exchanges

There is a lot of controversy over Traffic Exchanges and the fact is, they work. However, they only work if you set them up and either surf for credits, purchase credits or earn credits by sponsoring.

Most Traffic Exchanges are free and most offer a monthly, annual or lifetime membership. When possible, I always recommend the upgrade, especially any One Time Offers. If you are new to Internet Marketing, you want to add "upgrades" one at a time as your budget allows. The free traffic exchange memberships work well too.

Here are a just three of my favourite Traffic Exchanges:

EarthFriendlyBiz has your share in Traffic Exchanges and one of my first recommendations. You will want to take advantage of all aspects of EarthFriendlyBiz from their traffic programs to its downline builder.

Step 3 - Setting up your Traffic Exchanges

Each exchange offers training on how to setup their program and use the system. I encourage you to take time and become familiar with each exchange as you join.

You are going to advertise your lead capture link.

In this example, because we are focused on the EarthFriendlyBiz system, you will setup your EarthFriendlyBiz website.

You will be asked for you Website URL and information when you join the Traffic Exchange program.

If you are advertising a lead capture page, you will enter that link when you join and setup the Traffic Exchange programs.

You want to spend a few moments each day surfing through the exchanges that you are a member of. Most exchanges offer bonus credits for surfing each day and you will be introduced to other members sites. It's always a good idea to see what others promote on Traffic Exchanges.

Lead capture type sites are the best to advertise on exchanges. Anything that captures your reader's contact information.

Traffic Exchanges are just one of many resources you will learn to use online.

If I were to give out one word of advice it will be this: Take this slow. Don't join every program and resource out there thinking your business will grow. You must learn to understand how each system works and you must setup your systems properly.

Far too often I see new members and even seasons members take on too much at once and become lost in the sea of information and learning.

If you take your time and learn the basics of each program, understand how they function and learn to set them up properly, you will be able to successfully use the Internet to build your list and build your primary business.

Remember, the Internet is a great place to find prospects and our goal is to find those prospects and have them subscribe to your list so they can learn about you and your business.

Get More Done When You Turn Your To Do List Into A Mind Map

Every productivity expert will give you their opinion about how to get more things done in the same amount of time.

They’ll show you how to make to do lists, categorize them with 1, 2, 3, or A, B, C and try to get you to eliminate tasks off your list.

These methods can be helpful for some, but if it’s not working for you take a look at mind maps.

Mind maps are simply visual representations of ideas. You’ve probably used them before to organize your thoughts on a business project, or back in school when you were thinking about writing a research paper.

There are plenty of mind mapping software programs out there, from free to expensive. All have their own merits, but my favorite one to use is Freemind.

This won the medal for me because it’s simple, uses a hierarchical structure, exports maps as images, PDFs, and text outlines.

Let me give you an example of my (pretty typical) to-do list from this weekend.

* Mow the lawn
* Write an email to subscribers/clients
* Twitter a bit
* Email
* Work on sales page for Discover Freemind
* Create survey for IM Success Workshop
* Send inner circle members note about Sunday night call
* Watch Olympics
* Straighten Office
* Friend requests on Facebook
* Check fantasy baseball roster
* Post lesson on Freemind to blog

Now if I were writing this on a piece of paper as they come to me, this is the order they came out.

Traditionally, I would then either rewrite my list, or designate each task as a 1, 2, or 3.

But with Freemind, I can actually move these things around based on categories I determine.

So for example, a regular to-do list map would look like this…

And I would then set up categories of Home, Office, Just for Fun, and put each task into a category.

(Alternatively, I could use things like morning, afternoon, evening)

Just this step alone of categorizing and shifting tasks into slots helps me tremendously. And if I make subcategories to group things by similar processes (i.e., social networking, online/offline work, etc.), I can make sure I am efficient, too.

Another cool feature within Freemind is when I’m focusing on a task, I can make the other tasks “disappear” so I am not distracted. That little circle next to a category means they’re still there. Just tucked away.

I use this same process whether it’s a daily agenda, a workshop, a product launch, or teleseminar - anything that benefits from strategic planning is a perfect fit for mindmaps.

One final tip - color helps me in my organization. So I will often use Freemind’s formatting tools to help my brain make sense of the map even more. So the map above turns into this…

In the American colonies, Catholics, Anglicans, Dutch reformed and Lutherans approved Christmas celebrations, which began to adopt a joyful and often boisterous tradition from pagan cultures.

Charles Dikens, one of the giants of English literature gave life to Christmas by writing “A Christmas Carol”. Charles Dikens wrote from his own experience with his enormous warmth of feelings. Dickens was particularly successful at evoking the sights, sounds and smells of London. Charles Dikens novel “A Christmas Carol” popularized Christmas as a family event.

For various early cultures, December 25 was a significant date: Babilonians believed the son of the queen of heaven was born on December 25. Egyptians celebrated the birth of the fertility goddess Isis on December 25. Arabs believed that the moon was born on December 24.

From the ancient Romans we received the decorated tree. During their Saturnalia winter festivals, they decorated trees with small pieces of metal, in honor of Saturn the God of agriculture. By the year 1531, Christmas trees were sold in Alsace, which at the time was a part of Germany. From Paradise, we received the apple tree, decorated with apples as a symbol of Adam and Eve feast on December 24.
Mark Carr brought trees to New York streets in 1851 and opened the first retail Christmas trees lot in the United States. Franklin Pierce was the first president to introduce Christmas trees in the White House.

All the traditions we received from all over the world and different branches of our ancestors, are here for us to enjoy during Christmas holidays with all those we love and care for. Diamonds are symbols of a life style which implies success, wealth and prosperity. Publishing a blog on a regular basis teaches you many things, you experience the highs, and you also often become the victim of people who try to take pot shots at you and bring you down, however in the end it depends on how well you can channel your inner Jerry McGuire.

What is it that separates a those who succeed from those who fail? It’s the willingness to sacrifice and take a chance on that idea that keeps nagging at you in the back of your head. The one that won’t let you sleep, the one that you think of over and over again, in the shower, in the car, while you’re walking the dog, while your standing in line at DMV, the idea that’s like that little annoying cousin at a family picnic who just won’t go away.

Sometimes we just get caught up on the conveyor belt of life, we push something “out the door” to meet a deadline real or imagined. We sacrifice greatness and quality because we’re lazy or unmotivated. We settle for mediocrity because we’re afraid to grow, afraid to try something new, and most importantly we’re afraid to fail. Not everything we do has to be great some things just have to be good enough to get the job done. However sometimes we fool ourselves we settle for second best because it’s easier, we push it out and hope that no one notices it’s crap. I’m lucky, I have friends who will challenge me (sometimes in private, sometimes in public) and when I publish something that doesn’t posses that suigeneris MG quality and flavor, I get called out on it, and that’s good, because it sucks being seen as a disappointment.

What’s the take-away here, if you’re going to do something do it with gusto. if you’re going to be a filthy rotten low down no good dirty spammer, then by gosh do it right! Crank up your auto-gen bots and churn and burn through domains like Sherman burned through Georgia. if you’re going to go the content route spend the time build it right, do the research, stomp all over the person who holds the spot ahead of you. They have one page you have three, they have ten pages you have thirty, don’t settle for second. Don’t whine and complain that nobody pays attention or links to you. You want links, you want attention, stand up and do something hard, do something exceptional, do something amazing, do something note worthy, do something impossible to ignore, do anything other than being a crybaby. Stop lamenting over your lack of green pixels and worrying about quadrilateral link exchanges with foreign TLD’s, because other than being another SEO news blog that’s about the least outstanding thing you could possibly do.

Lastly stop settling for average. Instead of creating sites that suck ass and are nothing more than retread web 2.0 BS, create something new and different, take the risk, take the chance, go the distance. You don’t get to be an SEO Rockstar sitting on your kiester trying to be a B player. The only thing that will do is make you that guy sitting alone in the bar at pubcon wondering why nobody talks to you, and then coming back home and crying about it on your blog.

This post may have pissed off a few people, and you know what … good. What are you going to do about it? Are you going to take it lying down, or are you going to prove that you have what it takes to be a player. Telling me I’m wrong in the comments doesn’t prove anything, going off and creating something great on your blog, website or forum, now that will prove something, and just maybe you’ll have found your own Jerry McGuire while doing it.

It's a big hit of a documentary-movie stressing on how to get wealth and other attaining through manifestation. To be more precise, the "secret" is the "Law Of Attraction".

Manifesting wealth in your life is the process of attracting sources of income, abundance and prosperity. How does it work?

Well, in a simple way of explanation, affirmations are nothing more than positive statements that are said in the present tense. They help to remold your mind, behaviors and feelings regarding wealth to put you in a better place to receive.

Although most people want to have more money, most people also have limiting beliefs when it comes to their ability to get it. Money is one of those subjects that we are taught a lot about as children - unfortunately, some of us are taught with the wrong beliefs of money. How many times have you heard the following:

"Money doesn't grow on trees"
"We can't afford it"
"Those kinds of things aren't for us"
"Rich people aren’t good people"
"He/she probably did something unethical to get that rich"
"The rich just want to control the world"

Statements like these said by your parents, friends, neighbors or even the media have molded your beliefs about what it is like to be rich. I called it, 'mental programming'.

Although you consciously know that there are "good" rich people on this planet, your past programming is affecting your ability to really let yourself create wealth because there are negative association to it previously.

This is where affirmations come in. The previous statements, and ones like them, are nothing more than negative affirmations. Just like affirmations, they were said in the present tense, with a lot of emotional conviction. With repetition, they became part of your understanding of the world. And now they are holding you back from what you really desire.

Before you write affirmations about your specific wealth goals ("I make a million dollars a year"), you may need to take some time working with affirmations about your beliefs about wealth. These types of affirmations will help displace your old beliefs from your childhood.

Start by making a list of attitudes, behaviors or events that shaped what you currently think and feel about wealth and rich people. Think about what your parents taught you about wealth (or lack thereof). Write down these statements on a piece of paper.

Next, you'll want to tackle each one of those statements with a new positive statement about wealth. For example, at the heart of "money doesn't grow on trees" is the concept that wealth is finite and limited. You can challenge this with a new belief "The universe is abundant with wealth and other resources."

Confronting the old behaviors and beliefs about money and wealth will free you to pursue what you really want. If you truly want to earn that million a year, but are holding onto negative connotations about the rich, you will never allow yourself to get it. Using affirmations you can dig up old limiting beliefs and replace them with empowering statements.

What Are The Common Three Affirmation Mistakes?

If you've read about the power of affirmations and are trying to put it to work for you, you may feel stuck when you don't see your results manifesting instantly. You've got to remember that affirmation does require some patience and good practice. But, there are three specific mistakes that you may be making in your affirmations process that can slow down your success. Once you address these areas, you may find that your desires are coming into your life quicker and more smoothly.

The first mistake is not spending enough time finding out what you really want or how much money you want to attain. Affirmations are positive statements said in the present tense about future goals. They work best when they are very specific. With affirmations, you have the incredible opportunity to declare exactly what you want and then get it.

However, many people, for a whole host of reasons, have trouble defining what they truly want. They've lived for so long with less than they deserve because of duty or religious beliefs or self-worth issues that it is hard to define what they want for themselves. If you’re one of those people, know right now that it is okay to want prosperity, abundance and happiness for yourself. You being happy is not going to make anyone else suffer.

To clearly define what you want, first look at the things that you don't want in your life.

Start with a list of your "don't wants" and write down as much as you can think of. If you were to design your life exactly the way you wanted¦ what would you get rid of? Once you've compiled that list, you'll have a better idea of what you do want. You'll be able to write specific and personal affirmations.

The next mistake that people often make is not saying the affirmations with positive emotions attached. You've got to get excited about your affirmations. As you read your affirmations, you've got to be getting more and more thrilled with the idea of having these desires manifest in your life. The affirmations are only partially about the words. The other part of the process is the feelings involved.

If you just stand in front of the mirror a few times a day and blankly read your list of affirmations, you aren't getting excited. It may be that what you've written down doesn't excite you. If that's the case, rewrite your affirmations and declare what you really want.

You may also need to take a moment before you begin stating your affirmations to get in a positive frame of mind. You don't have to be positive about the specific affirmations; you just need to get positive about something. Think of your best friend, your lover, your successes, your pet, a baby laughing, visiting an amusement park, a funny memory... whatever it takes! Get yourself in a good mood, and then practice your affirmations.

Finally, affirmations require belief. If you spend time saying your affirmations with a little voice inside your head that says "this will never happen" you are defeating the purpose. Resistance, in the form of doubt, will always outweigh your desires. If you've got a little negative voice during your affirmations sessions, then you need to work on removing the resistance.

You can remove the resistance to your affirmations by removing doubt. No matter what your desire is there are hundreds if not thousands of people who are achieving the same goal successfully. Take some time to evaluate any limiting beliefs that are creating resistance. Limiting beliefs are statements like I can't start a new business because "I'm too old" or "I can't be in a relationship right now because I have to lose weight." When you encounter beliefs like this, ask yourself if it is possible that other people in similar circumstances have been able to achieve what you want.
